Health Care Assistant - West Mendip Hospital
We currently have permanent vacancies for Health Care Assistants - full/ part time.
West Mendip Hospital has 30 inpatient re-enablement beds and we provide care and support for patients in and around our community. We work closely with other health and social care professionals to make a difference to individuals lives in times that can be very emotive and difficult for patients and family members. Patients are admitted to the ward for a period of assessment from our nursing, rehab and social care team in order to support patient centred discharge planning to various settings.
We are looking for applicants with excellent communication skills and are flexible, motivated, hard-working, able to prioritise their workload and demonstrate evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development.
Successful applicants will work alongside the registered nurse and assist with all aspects of patient care, from admission through to discharge, using a computerised record keeping system. You will provide general nursing care to all of your patients, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect.

You would be required to work flexibly on an internal shift rotation, working both days and nights over a seven day period, including bank holidays. In return you will receive enhanced payments for working unsocial hours, a generous holiday entitlement and pension scheme.
Shortlisted applicants will need to hold NVQ level 2 in care or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience in a similar role within their application form.
