Job description
We are looking for part-time Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly theatre team at the Day Surgery Unit, Cirencester Treatment Centre working for Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will provide support to the trained theatre staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Cirencester Treatment Centre is situated within Cirencester Hospital and has one Day Surgery Theatre , a one bedded recovery area and a nurse led pre and post operative ward.
The Treatment Centre is open Monday to Friday from 07:30-19:00. Theatre sessions run from 09:00-17:00
Our specialties include Orthopaedics & Oral Surgery.
We have an active Practice Development Team based at the acute hospital sites who support the training and induction of new members of staff and their development thereafter.
To support trained staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team in theatre and first stage recovery.
To assist with maintaining stock levels and the receipt of instruments and other consumables.
After training, participate in procuring items essential for the smooth running of the department.
Knowledge of basic nursing and personal care.
Ability to provide a variety of basic nursing skills.

Cirencester has excellent road links to Gloucester, Cheltenham, Swindon and the surrounding areas.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- IT skills e.g. Electronic Patient Systems
- Demonstrate ability to assess patient condition and implement appropriate care, within the multidisciplinary team.
- To communicate effectively, especially where patient ability to do so is compromised.
- To deliver safe care within a challenging and changing clinical environment, using equipment and resources safely and as appropriate.
- To adhere to all Trust policies and procedures
- To input and retrieve patient and staff information from computer based systems.
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records.
