We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery Unit based at The London Clinic's hospital in London. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £22,788 - £29,966 per annum.

Established in 1932, The London Clinic is one of the UK’s largest private hospitals, with state-of-the-art facilities located on Harley Street. We have circa 1350 employees across 8 sites where we cover complex medical and surgical procedures and a comprehensive range of cancer and outpatient services.

Our Plastics & Reconstructive Surgery Unit comprises of 17 rooms all with en-suite facilities. We provide safe and effective plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures ranging from breast reconstruction e.g. DIEP, to abdominoplasty and rhinoplasty. We are proud to have world-renowned specialists in facelift and eyelift procedures. We can also treat a range of conditions including benign skin problems.

Job Description

As a Healthcare Assistant, you will work under direct/indirect supervision of the nursing staff and Consultants to aid with overall day to day operations ensuring overall care and safety to the patient, visitors and staff.

  • Job Location: This role is located at our hospital site in London, W1G 6JA (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).
  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.
  • Shifts: Mixed Shift Rotation – 11.15 hour shifts, working Long Days, Nights, including Weekends.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in delivering a high standard of holistic care to patients, recognising their individuality, and promoting privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Perform and report clinical observation of patient’s including respiration rate, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, oxygen saturation and fluid balance.
  • Assist with patient hygiene, elimination, mobility, physical comfort, eating, drinking, whilst observing and reporting specific changes.
  • Observe and report changes in patient’s condition to the nurse in charge.
  • Pre-registering, registering and charging patients using Meditech, as well as entering stats daily into computer system.
  • Assisting the nursing team with patient admissions and escorting of patients to theatre.

Skills & Experience

  • NVQ in Health Care Level 2 or 3 or Care Certification
  • Previous experience working in a surgical area within an acute UK hospital setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills who is friendly, flexible and adaptable in your approach.
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • To be polite and pleasant with an appropriate professional demeanour and also able to cope with stressful and sensitive situations.
