Job Title – Research HCA/Phlebotomist
We are a unique UK and International research project aimed at improving knowledge and advancing care around cardiovascular diseases in the South Asian population.
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HCA/Phlebotomist to join our research team at our Leicester research site.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- To provide a prompt, efficient, and professional service whilst working closely with the multidisciplinary team to achieve best end-to-end participant experience
- To ensure that all your contact with participants, clients, staff, and visitors are courteous and professional and the service delivered meets the agreed specified protocols
- To take responsibility for individualised participant care and to communicate any difficulties relating to his/her assessment as appropriate to the Manager
- To provide the highest standards and safe practices of care to participants attending for their assessments which includes but not limited to phlebotomy, ECG, and spirometry
- To conduct weight and height measurements and record blood pressure
- To ensure patient care by chaperoning and assisting patients to dress and undress
- To collect clinical waste, ensuring appropriate storage prior to disposal
- To input participant information/data onto the participant database
- To ensure ongoing cleaning of clinical equipment and work surfaces and to prepare treatment rooms prior to use
Skills & Experience
Applicants will have:
- Worked in a UK healthcare environment and be able to demonstrate experience of providing care to patients
- Recent experience in phlebotomy with adults and competency in adult phlebotomy using a Vacutainer System. MUST HAVE CERTIFICATION IN THE UK
- Understanding of health and safety and infection control in a work environment
- Understanding of the importance of patient confidentiality and GDPR
- Strong IT Skills
- Strong communication and language skills
