Band 2 Bank Healthcare Assistant - General acute

Do you want to earn extra money with the flexibility to work around your lifestyle? We are looking for experienced Support Workers to play a vital role in developing and maintaining a good working relationship with patients through regular contact and supporting their safety and well-being.
We have shifts available in rehabilitation wards where care is provided to adults requiring a short term, intensive period of care. Patients are assessed by relevant professionals from the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT), e.g., consultants, doctors, advanced nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and nurses. You will be involved in care of a range of patients with different needs providing support through their discharge planning when they no longer need acute hospital care.

Band 2 Pay Rates
Day Rate - £10.19 per hour
Night/Sat Rate - £15.37 per hour
Sun/Bank Holiday Rate - £19.95 per hour
What you’ll be responsible for –
- Ensuring that the patient is the prime focus when making decisions about their care and wellbeing
- Assisting patients with compassion when undertaking normal activities of daily living whilst ensuring that privacy, dignity, and human rights are respected
- Implementing holistic, culturally sensitive, respectful, non-judgmental care from a pre-determined care plan for patients with a wide range of care needs
- Carrying out assigned tasks under the direction of a qualified nurse or the supervision of a more senior grade nursing assistant. This includes assisting the patients in all aspects of personal care and life skills
- Always ensuring the confidentially of patients and clinical documents
· Involvement in discussion on the development of patient centred programmes
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
· A minimum of 6 months experience in a similar role within the last 2 years
· Good communicationskills and demonstrative evidence of team working
· Ability to take direction and instruction and be honest and trustworthy
· Good oral and written communication
