We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to the role of Band 3 Nursing Assistant for the Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC). This is an exciting opportunity to start a new service within the Emergency Services Division, as part of the NHS long term plan to provide a same day services 24 hours a day for all speciality patients.

The SDEC is a 38 trolley space providing care for all speciality patients for the trust. The unit is operational 24 hours per day, 7 days a week and is designed to facilitate rapid assessment and investigation of speciality patients referred from GP, NHS 111 and the Emergency department. Our Urgent Treatment Centre for minor injuries and illnesses is also part of the SDEC and you will be expected to work in all areas.

Those who need hospital admission are streamed to either The Acute Medical Unit or specialist wards in the Trust or externally.

Our team is enhanced by Clinical Practice Facilitators, Consultant nurses, Advanced Clinical Practitioners and Emergency Nurse Practitioners who are available to support you both clinically and professionally within the multi professional emergency services team.

The band 3 nursing assistant role will be suited to those who have got hospital experience and have a history working within acute and/or emergency care and thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment. This will be an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge and skills required to manage a variety of patients within a highly skilled multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidates will be dynamic and forward thinking with a progressive approach to enhancing patient care and safety within urgent, emergency and acute care services. You will be a compassionate, enthusiastic and confident individual, who is able to provide the highest standard of patient care, under supervision. You will need to be able to prioritise, work under pressure and have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will need to be reliable, hardworking and trustworthy.
