Job description

We require staff who have a genuine interest in help caring for critically ill patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as having excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Southport Critical Care is a 5 bedded ITU, 6 bedded HDU and 4 bedded POCU unit. We offer support for multi organ failure and have invested in high performance technology and equipment to help with medical management and rehabilitation of critically ill patients.
Successful applicants will be supported through a supernumerary period and will become proficient in assisting qualified nurses in providing basic care as well as other day to day responsibilities.

Working closely with all members of the team to ensure competent safe delivering of care and acheivement of specific role dependant duties that are within your scope of training and competence.
Communicate compassionately and effectively with patients and their families whilst maintaining confidentialty.
Being able to deliver personal care to patient’s whilst maintaining their privacy and dignity and support with patient rehabilitation.
Support for the safe efficient running of the Critical Care Unit by completion of a robust training programme including safe use of specific equipment.
