About the Role
Queens Park Group Surgery has a fantastic opportunity for a healthcare assistant to join the practice, to support the nursing team, on a full-time basis or part-time basis.
- Blood pressure checks.
- New patient checks.
- NHS health checks
- ECGs
- Dressings / wound care.
- Blood glucose checks
- Blood cholesterol checks
- Urine dipstick checks
- Swabs – skin, wound, ear, nose (not HVS or chlamydia)
- Some vaccinations e.g. flu
- Chaperone – when needed
- Assisting with minor operations
- Assisting with family planning clinic and postnatal clinics
- Assisting with baby immunisations
- Diabetic foot checks
- Updating clinical system – data entry and clinical coding
No invasive procedures
About the Candidate
- Ideally possessing a Healthcare qualification
- Strong clinical skills;
- Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post;
- Ideally with experience within primary care or another healthcare setting;
- Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills;
- Practical IT skills preferably in a clinical setting
- Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues;
- Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team;
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
