Job Description: Healthcare Assistant

Responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily living activities such as eating, showering and using the toilet

- Provide personal care and support to people in their own homes for whom the company has agreed to provide a service in line with an agreed care and support plan.

- Contribute to specialised care plans, eg for people with dementia, re-enablement or people with continence difficulties.

- Talking to patients and reassuring them

- Attending meetings with other healthcare professionals

- Help users take their prescribed medication (as specified on their care plans) Contribute to care of service users who are temporarily sick, eg minor dressings, bed nursing etc.

- Read and write reports and take part in staff and service users meetings and in training activities as directed.

- Comply with the agency's guidelines and policies at all times, eg in respect of dress code, wearing of identity badges, travelling and security and safeguarding of service users.

- Report to the manager any significant changes in health of a service user.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred, but not required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately
