We have a number of shifts available, full or part-time guaranteed hours, or occasional hours if you prefer working with flexibility.
St Michael’s is home for under 30 adults with physical disabilities. Our 1870s house is surrounded by beautiful countryside at the foot of the Mendip Hills. We’re in the peaceful village of Axbridge in Somerset with shops, community hall, pubs and restaurants nearby.
As a Support Worker/Healthcare Assistant with Leonard Cheshire you’ll provide a high level of care and support to vulnerable people, enabling them to live the life they choose. You’ll assist with daily tasks including personal care, medication and assistance at mealtimes, motivating and encouraging choice and participation.
Experience as a Support Worker, Care Assistant or Healthcare Assistant is desirable but not essential as we offer an excellent training and induction programme to get you fully trained in your new role!

Basic hourly rate - £11.26 per hour, up to £13.26 per hour with enhancements.
A night enhancement of £1.50 per hour will apply from 8pm to 7am Monday – Sunday (this does not apply to sleep-ins). A weekend day enhancement of £2.00 per hour will be paid from 7am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday. This will be implemented on a trial basis.
