About the Practice/Department/Team
Lakeside Healthcare Corby operates over 3 sites and are rated as GOOD with CQC. We have a strong team ethos and believe that including those delivering the service in decisions are key to the best patient outcomes so actively engage with all parts of the surgery to achieve this.
We have created a supportive environment through clinical supervision, team and quality meetings and an open and honest working relationship across our team.
We continue to invest in the training and development of our nursing team and recognise the importance of personal as well as organisational development.
As a practice we like to undertake projects to improve both patient and staff experience and have recently signed up to the Green Impact Toolkit for Practices. We also enjoy supporting local and national charitable events and regular social events.
Job Introduction
We are looking for a Healthcare Assistant join our team providing general practice services including; simple dressings, NHS Health checks, ECGs, blood pressure checks, administering injections such as Flu and pneumonia, long term condition reviews etc who will work full-time or part-time during our network core hours which are 8 am – 8 pm Monday to Friday and 9 am – 5 pm on a Saturday on a rota basis.
What you will do
Working under the supervision of the Lead Nurse and team members demonstrate developing competence and clinical skills in the duties listed below, ensuring all information is clearly and objectively recorded according to practice policy.
- Perform and record an ECG.
- Blood Pressure checks / Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring.
- Capillary samples of blood glucose and haemoglobin.
- Assist with setting up of equipment and chaperoning for Women's Health Procedures.
- Application of basic dressings as directed by Practice Nurse.
- Maintain stock levels / emptying clinical waste in consulting rooms.
- Recording of specimens prior to dispatch by courier.
- Liaison with pathology departments within secondary care as required.
- Chaperoning for other clinicians as required.
- General administrative support and computer data entry.
- Any other duties as deemed appropriate to meet the needs of the Practice in the future.
