Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role include;
Assisting with patients who are attending the Plastic Surgery Outpatient Department
Ensuing the smooth running of the Plastic Surgery Outpatient clinics
Ensuring all the Consultant & clinical examination rooms are clean, tidy and ready for use
Undertaking all nursing procedures in accordance with Trust policies and ensure that these procedures and policies are understood and adhered to
Communicating with patients and significant others with empathy and reassurance
Maintaining accurate and comprehensive nursing records using appropriate documentation
After appropriate support and training, carry out simple dressings after patient has been assessed by a registered nurse and directions given (only if trained to NVQ Level 111 standard)
Assisting qualified nurse with complex dressings
Taking and recording patient’s blood sugar level after being assessed (only if trained to NVQ Level 111 standard)
Taking and recording vital observations of patients as requested by medical or qualified nursing staff including; temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure and report any abnormalities to medical or nursing staff
Assisting the Registered Nurse with specialist clinical activities
