You will work as part of a team of radiation protection specialists supporting operations at the Vulcan Naval Reactor Test Establishment. The site is currently delivering against significant programmes of work, which provides an excellent opportunity to develop and gain experience in the nuclear industry.

What you’ll be doing:
You will act as radiation protection lead for operational facilities and key site programmes.
- Provide practical and technical advice to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and the attainment of industry best practice.
- Undertake radiation risk assessments and support the implementation of effective risk management controls.
- Critically review, analyse and summarise data in order to draw conclusions and make recommendations.

- Experience working within Health Physics is essential
- Degree qualified in a science-based subject or relevant industry experience
- Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills (both verbal and written) and the ability to confidently interface with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation
- The ability to write well-structured reports that present clear arguments with a sound basis for recommendations
- Enthusiastic, motivated and committed to delivering continuous improvement in challenging circumstances
- Expertise in radiation protection instrumentation is desirable.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines Business an individual has to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats to that clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if the individual does not currently already have this in place.
Due to the nature of work the Business conducts and the protection of certain assets a person has to be a UK national or in MoD approved cases a Dual National from a non ITAR country.
