Specialist Children’s Services provide services for both Community Paediatric Services and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. Our ambition is to provide the very best evidenced based care to children, young people and their families. Tier 4 CAMHS are part of Specialist Children’s Services and coordinate and provide inpatient and specialist mental health services including regional and national inpatient units. Our commitment is to providing person centred, trauma informed care that responds to young people and their families in a partnership approach and supports young people on their recovery journey. We are looking for a highly motivated team member who is ambitious to help young people to achieve choice, control and their personal outcomes within a human rights based approach. We have a vacancy within our Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit for young people aged 12 – 17 years based at Skye House, Stobhill Campus and National Child’s Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at RHC. The postholder will work across the two teams dependent on clinical requirements. This is a full time post with a shift pattern of 24 hour rotation covering 7 days a week. The nursing team within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) Inpatient Services provides recovery based care. The role requires the applicant to work as part of the MDT to implement care for young people experiencing mental health difficulties. This will include the role of associate nurse which supports the staff nurse (named nurse). The role also requires engaging in regular support of family/carers. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check. You will be expected to work between the Child Psychiatry in patient Unit and the Adolescent Psychiatry in Patient Unit as needs arise.
