Posts have become available for two Health Care Support Workers (HCSWs) based in Willow ward, Orchard view, Inverclyde Mental Health Inpatient Services. Willow ward is a 30 bedded ward for Older adults with complex mental health needs, mainly cognitive disorders including Dementia. These posts are permanent for 23hrs.
Applications are invited from individuals who have a desire to demonstrate and deliver compassionate caring behaviours to fulfil the key functions of the inpatient ward/department. Previous experience of caring for individuals with mental health problems/organic disorders is essential.
The post-holder will be responsible for contributing to the care and support of patients within the inpatient mental health service. The post-holder will provide care and support as part of an agreed plan of care which involves the use of a strengths based recovery focused approach that proactively involves the person.
The post holder is required to be able to undertake duties without direct supervision working in partnership with patients, carers and other professionals/ agencies in line with legislative frameworks, agreed standards and clinical policies, as well as participating in regular Nurse Line Management Supervision and Clinical Supervision. It would be desirable if you were educated to, or actively working towards SVQ3 /SCQF level 6.
