Job description
Swansea Bay University Health Board are currently recruiting for Health Care Support Workers to join our team across our Morriston, Singleton and Neath Port Talbot hospital sites.
**Please indicate in your supporting information which hospital site you are applying for (Morriston, Singleton or Neath Port Talbot).**
We are looking for hard-working, caring and motivated individuals to join us in this role.
The Healthcare Assistant (Level 2) will work at all times under the delegation of a registered practitioner or assistant practitioner in the delivery of person centred care.
As you can imagine, our hospitals don’t close and as such our HCSW’s work a variety of shift patterns to ensure our patients get the care they need, round the clock. A typical shift pattern is long days 7am -19.30 which does mean long shifts, but less days worked each week. After a couple of weeks this will also include night duty which is 19.00-7.30am. Please only apply to this vacancy if you are happy to work these shifts and don’t have restrictions on the days you can work, due to the nature of our rota's.
The post holder will be responsible for following care plans and recording all personally generated observations and documenting care given in individual’s notes.
If you have previous experience working within a healthcare setting and / or healthcare qualifications, we are very keen to hear from you.
You will be undertaking a vital role in maintaining quality care and be part in the recovery of our patients.
You will be carrying out several assigned clinical and care tasks related with direct patient care which can have a truly remarkable impact. You will be supported and supervised by a Registered Nurse while carrying out these activities.
Key duties include recording of Vital Signs, Manual Handling, Infection Prevention and Control, Safeguarding and carrying out Hydration & Nutrition checks.
You will also be supporting the Registered/Assistant Practitioner, delivering quality care based on the needs of the patient.
If you are looking for flexible working / Nurse Bank, please don’t apply to this vacancy as this is separate. You will instead need to contact [email protected] . If you are studying or can’t work particular days of the week, you will need to join us via the Nurse Bank.
