Please note this is a Permanent - Part Time Post (34.5 hours)
We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Support Worker to join our Orthopaedic Department, based at University Hospital Wishaw.
The successful candidate will carry out routine personal care/assist with routine examination duties for patients, in support of (and supervised by), a registered nurse/clinician and ensure a person centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy.
The post holder will also carry out assigned duties to maintain hygiene, order and safety within the ward/department environment.
Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.
Knowledge, training and / or / experience required to do the job:
- Knowledge of personal care and related procedures/previous volunteer/work experience in a health, education or social environment
- Required to undertake job training and induction
- Undertake mandatory HCSW standards
- Ability to work with people and as part of a Multidisciplinary Team
- Effective written and verbal Communication Skills
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Working knowledge of basic Information Technology
