Healthcare Support Worker

Band 3 – £5,468 - £27,486 per annum
Plus £1,279 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
1 X 37.5 hrs Full Time Permanent Post
1 X 30hrs Part Time Permanent Post
A vacancy has arisen in the Theatre Suite, Western Isles Hospital on the Island of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. We are seeking for 2 motivated and enthusiastic Health Care Support Workers to join our theatre team. The posts will be mainly in the decontamination and processing of Endoscopes and the successful candidates will be expected to compete the mandatory training required for this service, which involves a 3 day course on the mainland. There will also be the opportunities to gain varied experience and learn in, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Oral surgery and Endoscopy areas.
Working hours will consists of shifts weekdays and weekends.
The successful applicant will be required to participate in an out-of-hours “on call” rota, living within a 11-mile radius or being prepared to stay in residency when on call. Applicants should be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with a flexible team-orientated approach.
