Health Care Assistant – Term Time
Billing Brook School is a busy special educational needs school for pupils aged 4 - 18. We strive to give all our pupils the best educational support and we are looking for a Health Care Assistant to complement our school team who are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of all our pupils and students.

We currently have a vacancy for a Health Care Assistant to work in all age groups and across the range of needs of our pupils. The main purpose of this role is to support the health and welfare of pupils. This role requires adaptability as the post always requires some time in class as a teaching assistant (approximately 50:50 split but will require some flexibility dependent on the operational needs of the school).
Applications are welcome from candidates who have:
- Appropriate first aid training
- The ability and patience to deal with pupils’ personal needs
- Experience of working with children with SEN
- Good numeracy/literacy skills and attention to detail
- NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification or experience relevant to the post
- Effective ICT skills – confident and competent
- The ability to respond to and communicate empathetically with children and adults, and able to build good rapport and positive relationships at all levels
- The ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and shared values
- The ability to be curious, creative, flexible and open to learning and new experiences
The school has a commitment to developing staff and has a career progression route for Teaching
Assistants. It may be necessary for successful applicants to undertake further training, which may occasionally take place during school closure times.

The positions are full time (33.5 hours per week) for 39 weeks of the year.
Salary Range: Grade F point 6 £21,968 (FTE) £17,108 (actual) - Point 7 £22,369 (FTE) £17,420
