ABOUT US
The London City Care and Support Services offers a range of services from Domiciliary Care to Supported Living Accommodation and Care, Respite Care, Social and Personal Care Services for vulnerable young people aged 16-25 years and adults aged 18-65, with needs arising from Learning Disability, Autism and Mental Health. We support vulnerable young adults at risk of social exclusion and our aim is to prevent young adults from becoming excluded from mainstream society and to reintegrate them by researching best practice and based on this, developing person-centred support plans. Our Mission is to “establish relationships with Social and Healthcare Settings and to provide competent and qualified staffing”. To achieve this, we believe that to offer an outstanding service, the needs of the individual must lie at the heart of everything we do.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking to recruit Care Assistants to join our team. If you are someone who enjoys helping others and likes to be part of contributing towards a positive difference each day, then we are eager to speak with you! We are looking for someone who is kind, respectful and genuine and can work confidently on their own and within a team: to provide high quality care to residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing companionship, interacting with individuals, understanding their emotional needs and brightening their day.
- Providing personal care to residents such as washing, toileting, dressing, eating and hygiene when required.
- Assisting residents with their meals, keeping them hydrated and ensuring they are having enough food to eat.
- Promoting independence, respecting residents wishes and allowing them to make their own choices.
- Adhering to required professional standards, following company procedures and Care Quality Commissions (CQC) requirements.
- Assisting with administrating medication to residents and accompanying residents to their medical appointments.
- Encouraging and supporting residents with taking part in social and leisure activities.
PERSON SPECIFICATION (ESSENTIAL)
- Experience in a similar role or working with vulnerable people.
- Demonstrate the ability to be caring, patient and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and able to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good organisational, communication and teamwork skills.
- Good work ethic and enthusiasm.
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
- Complete relevant DBS / PVG checks.
LICENCE/CERTIFICATION:
- Training Certificate/ Care Certificate (preferred).
LANGUAGE:
- English (required).
