Job Title: Health Care Assistant - Diagnostic Imaging Support/Radiography

Location: Leicester - Glenfield Hospital (Mobile Radiography Unit)

Contract Type: Full-Time, 36 hours per week with optional overtime

Hours: Condensed hours, 3 x 12 hour shifts 8am-8pm

Pay: £10.50 per hour, £19,656 per annum full time equivalent

Job Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Radiography Health Care Assistant (Diagnostic Imaging Assistant)to join us supporting the delivery of our mobile radiography service across our sites in Leicester. This post is full time and will require a dynamic individual to cover 3 x 12 hour day shifts with optional overtime at an enhanced rate (for hours completed beyond full time hours).

Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth delivery of our mobile radiography service. This is a rewarding role where you will be working closely alongside our radiographers to ensure Diagnostic Healthcare provides an exceptional quality imaging service at all times for our patients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Meeting and greeting the patient in a pleasant, confident and professional manner and explaining the scanning procedure.
  • Escorting patients to and from the unit including providing a dynamic risk assessment, use of the mobile unit lift, safety screening patients and positioning the patients on the scanner
  • Providing excellent patient care and customer service and providing the patient with the option to complete the patient survey after their scan.
  • Ensuring the scan room and waiting areas are kept clean and tidy at all times maintaining a safe clinical environment free from hazards.
  • Taking ownership of administrative tasks, post processing checks, and end of day reporting, working on the Trust and DHC worklist and PACS systems.
  • Complying with the health and safety procedures, infection control & dress code policies and clinical local rules.

  • The successful candidate will be a confident and friendly communicator with great inter-personal skills.
  • We are looking for somebody with great people skills who will be able to put patients at ease before, during, and after their scan - guaranteeing an exceptional level of service for all patients.
  • You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate effectively as part of a team as well as providing correct and consistent information with patients.
  • Exceptional customer service is key to the role and we are looking for somebody who is passionate about providing great customer experience.
  • Previous experience in a Healthcare Assistant role within a hospitals/care environment is highly desirable but not a requirement
  • We are also willing to consider candidates with some prior experience providing excellent customer service in a customer-facing role & are wishing to learn a new role/skills in an a different industry.
