Health Care Assistant
Shifts including nights (12 hr day and night shifts. Working24 hours per week)
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Keswick Hospital, which is part of the Keswick and Solway ICC for HCA's to join the nursing team on the ward.
Keswick is situated in the Lake District National Park and is a hot spot for tourists. The Market Town is busy and full of shops, pubs and cafes, it is situated on the edge of Derwent Water at the head of the beautiful Borrowdale Valley.
We are looking for dynamic, motivated and enthusiastic HCA's to work as part of our dedicated nursing team. The ward has 16 beds, we take patients directly from home or stepped down from the two Acute Hospital sites within the Trust. We specialise in rehabilitation for patients and End of Life Care.
Direct Patient care
Assisting and promoting independence in washing and dressing patients.
Assisting patients in their rehab goals.
Assisting with patients nutritional needs.
Caring for patients as they near the end of life.
Taking observations and uploading them onto Web V
The successful applicant should have their care certificate which is relevant to this post; however not essential to the right candidate. All training relevant to this role will be provided by the trust and by your new colleagues on the ward. You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work within a changing environment and have good communication skills. You will be supported by the Registered staff on duty in the role. The post holder will be delivering nursing care covering a twenty-four hour period including public holidays and weekends.

Standard Check: £18 + Administration cost of £3.85 = £21.85. Deducted at £6.85 from 1st month salary and £5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
Enhanced Check: £38 + administration cost of £3.90 = £41.90. Deducted at £11.90 from 1st month salary and £10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.
