We are seeking an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our friendly nursing team at Eden Court Medical Practice. Full time or part time hours will be considered. Rate of pay negotiable. Experience essential.

Full Job Description
To provide nursing support to the Practice nurses and General Practitioners to ensure the efficient provision of the full range of nursing services offered to the patients of Eden Court Medical Practice.
- Venepuncture and the taking and preparing of pathology samples
- Test and record results of urine specimens
- Carry out NHS health checks and long term condition reviews as appropriate to role (full training will be provided).
- Offer health promotion advice such as lifestyle, diet, exercise and alcohol advice as indicated
- Conduct weight and height measurements, test and record pulse, blood pressure and blood sugar levels
- Perform ECGs on patients as requested by GPs.
- Domiciliary visits to housebound patients as required to deliver care as appropriate to the HCA role
- Ensure the correct disposal of clinical waste
- Follow infection prevention policies and procedures in consulting and treatment rooms
- Check and record vaccination fridge temperatures
- Administering influenza, pneumococcal and shingles vaccinations as directed on a patient specific basis
- Administering B12 injections as authorised by GPs
- Advise patients on smoking cessation
- Chaperoning other clinical staff when required
- Maintain adequate equipment stock levels and order/check stock on a regular basis
- Adhere to all Practice policies
