Job description
An opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 3 Healthcare Assistant to join our team within the Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology Unit based at Queen Charlottes and Chelsea Hospital. Ideally we wish to appoint someone has completed NVQ 3 in healthcare and is phlebotomy trained and IT literate.
At the Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology unit we care for women undergoing pregnancy loss as well as treating women with acute gynaecological conditions. We need someone who believes they could work within the team helping to support women through this difficult journey with warmth, dignity and sensitivity in a clinic environment.
You will be supported by a team of experienced Doctors, Registered Nurses and Administration staff.
Informal discussions/visits welcome
- Demonstrate a courteous and helpful approach to patients, colleagues, relatives and visitors in the clinical area. Greet and orientate patients and visitors to the clinic
- Ensure effective and appropriate communication with staff, patients, relatives and visitors, maintaining confidentiality at all time
- Answer the telephone, respond to queries and take messages, referring to the nurse in charge when appropriate. Be able to redirect incoming calls and access the bleep syste
- Communicate effectively via Trust e mai
- Attend staff meetings and actively contribute to the smooth running of the clinical are
- Promote the corporate image of Imperial College NHS Trust to all individuals, groups and organisations, both within the Trust and externally to the community at large
