Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust are delighted excited to announce that a vacancy for an enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to work with the Continence Team.

The post holder will work as a support member of the Continence Team, providing nursing, care and assessment for designated patients whilst working under the guidance and assisting the registered nurse.

The overall aims of the Continence Team are to promote continence and manage incontinence.

  • To work as a HCA under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse on duty, undertaking delegated tasks once trained and declared competent and aware at all times of the responsibilities and limitations of the HCA role.
  • Using initiative and a wide range of health and social care skills, within the guidance set and agreed by the professional members of the team. The term ‘professional’ member of the team refers to those clinicians, within the team who make the initial assessment and are responsible for the patient’s case management.
  • To prepare for and provide care and interventions enabling patients in their own home or community-based facility.
