Salary: £26,618 - £28,065 pa including HCAs
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
We’re looking for dynamic and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant who can drive forward Trinity’s vision and values and ensure safe, outstanding care for patients. Together, the inpatient unit (IPU) team at Trinity makes a real difference to the lives of people affected by serious long-term conditions and helps set the standard for specialist palliative and end of life care.

Responsibilities of a Royal Trinity Hospice Health Care Assistant
Help patients, and those important to them, to be in control of the care and support they receive, promoting self-care as much as possible.
Provide, under the guidance of registered nurse, high quality and compassionate physical, psychosocial and spiritual care for patients and the people important to them.
Carry out a range of care and support procedures as specified in the patient’s plan of care
Obtain the knowledge and skills needed to provide effective and compassionate end of life care and support to patients and those important to them. Participate in ongoing training provided by Royal Trinity to achieve the competence required for the role.
Skills and experience required
Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or equivalent (Band 3 HCA requirement)
Ability to work within the nursing and multi-professional team and to cope with the demands of working on the inpatient unit at the hospice
Experience of providing health care for patients in a health or social care setting and understanding the needs of a terminally ill patient
Able to demonstrate empathy and understanding of the issues encountered both by people approaching the end of life and those close to them
Enjoy working as part of a nursing team
A passion for working with and supporting the needs of adults with a life-limiting condition, with a real commitment to delivering the highest level of care at all times.
Excellent communication skills and be able to work collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
