The Beacon Centre Day Unit is a forward thinking and progressive nurse led unit which takes pride in its ability to provide excellent patient centred care whilst optimising the best outcomes for patients.
We ensure that all patients throughout Somerset requiring Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment receive a high standard of care from point of diagnosis to completion of treatment.

We have a 24 chaired day treatment unit and haematology/oncology outpatient department. This role is primarily based in the outpatient department.
Good communication skills and IT/keyboard skills are essential for this role, as is a cheerful disposition and positive attitude, together with the ability to work at times under a degree of pressure. You will be required to provide support for all clinicians within the outpatient setting, including assisting with patient care, such as recording patient observations, phlebotomy, cannulation and ECG’s. We will provide in-house training to enable you to develop all skills required

The post holder will work closely with medical, nursing and administrative teams striving to provide a seamless outpatient service for patient and their carers supporting the patient journey when attending appointments and procedures.
Ensuring that clinic schedules are adhered to, utilising consultants’ and patients’ time efficiently throughout the clinics and communicate effectively with patients and carers ensuring all clinic documentation and results are ready for the clinic.
Ideally holding a NVQ2 in Healthcare OR prepared to undertake a level 2 NVQ in Healthcare and complete within 1 year.
