Our Healthcare Assistants help our nurses and doctors at UHS, by offering the highest standards of personal care and support to our patients. The Adult Cystic Fibrosis Service is looking for a band 2 HCA who would like to develop their skills within cystic fibrosis care. This role is full time and our service operates from 0900-1700 Monday to Friday.We are an amazing team who want to support and develop your skills to care for our Cystic Fibrosis patients. As part of this role you will also have the opportunity to work alongside our PCD (Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia) and Bronchiectasis teams.

Your Responsibilities
What you’ll do
In this role you will:
- Work as part of the MDT within the outpatient department.
- Undertake observations in the clinic including collection of samples
- Once trained, carry out venesection and sweat testing
- Take responsibility for cleaning, stock checking and ordering for the department
- Support the MDT as required
The successful candidate will ideally hold a care certificate and have previous experience in a caring role, particularly in an acute hospital setting. They will be flexible to the demands of the service. The candidate should be willing to complete a care certificate within 6 months if they do not already have one.
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills so they are able to deal with the diversity of patients across the unit.
