Home manager / deputy manager / senior staff

Job Profile

The care assistant provides practical, emotional & social support throughout the day to ensure that the well-being of the residents is met. All employees are bound by the company policies & procedures.

Principle responsibilities

To support residents who need assistance with washing, toileting, dressing and undressing.

To support residents with mobility or physical difficulties, utilising equipment as assessed for and deemed necessary.

To assist in the control of continence ensuring comfort and dignity is maintained.

To support residents with getting up in the morning and retiring for bed in the evenings.

To ensure all assistive technology (sensor alarms/call bells) are in place as required to promote safety.

To assist in the serving of meals / drinks and offering support with eating / drinking as required to ensure dietary & hydration needs are being met, complete daily food/fluid charts where necessary.

To care for residents who are end of life, ensuring that the management are fully informed of events and inclusion of family as assessed for.

To observe physical well-being and reporting any significant concerns to the senior in charge.

To read and write reports, take part in staff meetings and complete training either face to face or via E Learning as required and requested.

To ensure that the security and safety of the home is maintained at all times, this includes active participation within fire drills.

To follow the hand over procedures / requests at each shift.

Working within the health & safety at Work act, the post holder has a legal duty to take reasonable care for both themselves and other people who may be affected by their undertakings. They are also required to undertake Health & Safety training commensurate with the level required by the post and to take part in risk assessment procedures & the agreed safe systems of working.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 per week

Salary: From £10.50 per hour
