The Intellectual Disabilities Service provides specialist NHS Day Services to people for whom mainstream services cannot meet their needs. We are seeking Healthcare Assistants to join our teams in Mansfield working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.20pm
We currently have Service Users with varying needs including physical health, mental health and autism associated with intellectual disability.
We provide a wide range of activities both in the community and based within the unit. We offer specialist support tailored to the individual drawing flexibly on a broad range of models and interventions working on engagement, continual assessment and monitoring.
We have vacancies for Band 2 Health Care Assistant to work within our Mansfield unit.
We are looking for caring individuals who have experience and understanding of the needs of people who have an intellectual disability and who have behaviours that can be challenging.
You will need to demonstrate initiative and teamwork. You will be part of a nurse led team and have responsibility for developing and delivering a variety of group and 1:1 therapeutic activities.
Activities include outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, gardening and swimming and indoor activities such as art, baking, music and craft projects.
You will liaise closely with other health and social care professionals as well as with Service Users family a
You will require an NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care, Care Certificate or equivalent experience.
You will be working with a highly motivated team that are committed to Personal and Professional development through ‘Performance Appraisal & Development’ and Clinical Supervision.

To assist with all activities of daily living with our Service Users

To maintain accurate and relevant clinical records both written and computerised

Please note that this post may not meet the pay and skill level required for a Skilled worker visa
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of Agenda for Change Band 2. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.
