Job description
To provide care for patients undergoing pre-operative assessment, without constant direct supervision from a qualified nurse.
To undertake tasks assigned to them, to promote the smooth running of the pre-operative assessment unit.
- Obtain and record accurately patient’s social history
- Undertake COVID swabs
- Taking and recording accurately vital signs
- Perform ECG on all patients over 65 and perform ECG as directed by trained nurse
- Perform Venepuncture and other fluid collections as directed
- Daily unit equipment checks ie CBGT and Hemocue
- Perform Spirometry tests
- Liaising with other multidisciplinary teams for patient information
- Place orders on ICE for blood specimens and pull results for actioning.
