Job description

To provide care for patients undergoing pre-operative assessment, without constant direct supervision from a qualified nurse.

To undertake tasks assigned to them, to promote the smooth running of the pre-operative assessment unit.

• Obtain and record accurately patient’s social history
• Undertake COVID swabs
• Taking and recording accurately vital signs
• Perform ECG on all patients over 65 and perform ECG as directed by trained nurse
• Perform Venepuncture and other fluid collections as directed
• Daily unit equipment checks ie CBGT and Hemocue
• Perform Spirometry tests
• Liaising with other multidisciplinary teams for patient information
• Place orders on ICE for blood specimens and pull results for actioning.
