Advert Information Job Title: HealthCare Assistant- Adult Disability Team – St Albans Location: Apsley, Hemel Hempstead Starting Salary: Band 4 £25,147 progressing to £27,596+ 5% Fringe allowance pa (pro rata for part-time) - Pay increase pending Hours: 37.5 hours per week Contract: Permanent Diversity: We are an inclusive employer and value a diverse workforce Job Duties: This is an exciting opportunity to join Hertfordshire’s Community Learning Disability Nursing service in Hertfordshire County Council. As a Band 4 Healthcare Assistant you will work with other nursing colleagues within the Adult Disability Team to reduce health inequalities for people living in St Albans. As a Healthcare Assistant you will work alongside paid and family carers to support people with learning disabilities to access mainstream health services by supporting clinicians to make reasonable adjustments. Your skills in adapting and creating the right approach for the individual will help bridge the gaps and reduce the risk of avoidable health conditions. We require people who can be creative and flexible to different approaches for different situations as no day in community learning disability nursing is the same. As the post is in the community you will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to travel to community visits and across to the 2 main HCC sites in Hemel Hempstead and Stevenage in a timely efficient way. As a Band 4 Healthcare Assistant you will be working alongside nursing colleagues who will be triaging and managing referrals to the service. We require you to have achieved a NVQ qualification in Health & Social care and demonstrate some experience in working with people with learning disabilities.
