Job description

Full Time Care Support Assistant 1 to 1

£12.21 per hour

Cheadle Hulme

Excitingly, we are looking for a new team member to join my son's care team, full time, at our house in Cheadle Hulme. Hours are at least 148 over a 4-week period as we work on a set rotational 4 weekly rota paid at £12.21 per hour. We are also looking for a part time team member to cover weekend shifts, consisting of overnights and day shifts. Hours to be negotiated.

My son is 21 and studies Journalism full time at university in Stretford, but lives in our family home along with his beloved pooch.

He has his own room and bathroom and a private area for his PA to watch Netflix, Amazon or to study or do any other hobbies during down time. (Draw the line at golf!)

Assisting him to live a full life is anything from driving him to university and helping him in his lessons or going to a social event with his friends or attending a Manchester United football match at Old Trafford, as he is a season ticket holder. Or you will just chill at home with him where he likes to game on his Xbox, watch YouTube and TV. You may type up a uni assignment or help him with a project.

He has a severe physical disability which means he relies on various pieces of medical equipment, from his powered wheelchair, overnight ventilator, hoists, peg feeds and medicines. He also needs all personal bathroom care. It's not the life he would have chosen but he is lucky enough to have a great team of people who keep him healthy, safe, smelling fresh and looking good all whilst promoting his independence.

We can offer a permanent contract, flexible hours, 5.6 weeks holiday, professional certified training and a lovely family friendly working environment.

Care background would be fabulous, but a practical can do, get up and go, willing to learn and use own initiative attitude is all we need, everything else can be trained. You need to be relatively fit and physically able and have a very good sense of humour and enjoy banter. You need to be flexible with hours so that you can pick up extra shifts to cover holiday and sick leave. Hours will consist of some overnights but mainly day shifts, including evenings and two weekends out of four.

We need a driver who is over 21and has a clean licence, for insurance purposes on his Motability vehicle.

You won't be working every minute on shift, there will be a lot of down time, but you will be paid for every minute you are here, so why not apply and give it a shot.
