The New Heatherwood Hospital opened in March 2022.
The Day Surgery Unit houses 22 Individual Patient Pods and we look after a variety of patients undergoing Orthopaedic Day Surgery procedures, in our 6 theatre Suites.
We also have a procedure room catering for plastic surgery, pain injections and urology including Prostate biopsies.
We also run the Frimley health Lithotripsy Unit.
On the DSU/ theatre floor we also work closely with our Pre- assessment colleagues, and the Ophthalmology Department who perform multiple cataract surgeries daily.
We are looking for an experienced motivated enthusiastic and flexible Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team, who wants to build on their existing skills in a dynamic Day Surgery environment.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills , they will be competent with taking of observations, admitting patients and providing all aspects of patient care.
Knowledge and or training with Electronic patient records would be preferred but training will be given.

We are also proud to host the Ministry of Defence Medical Group South East at Frimley Park with military surgical, medical and nursing personnel working alongside the hospitals NHS staff providing care to patients in all specialities.
Participate in the nursing care of patients under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and raise issues of concern to a qualified nurse.
Ensure accurate documentation.
Keep up to date with training.
Accompany patients to anaesthetic room in theatre.
Ensure regular post operative observations are performed and report any concerns.
Assist qualified nurse with Lithotripsy patient admissions.
Keep the ward environment clean and tidy by assisting with opening and closing lists.
Practice IPC to a high standard.
Assist patients with nutritional needs including offering hand hygiene.
Assist patients with mobilisation in accordance with surgeon/physio instructions.
Always maintain respect and confidentiality.
Communicate effectively and liaise with all health care staff as appropriate.
To participate in quality assurance initiatives within the unit.
Pro actively respond to potential complaints to prevent formal complaints occurring.
