An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Healthcare Assistant to join us at a small friendly GP surgery South Manchester.
Main duties of the job
Working under the direct supervision of the Lead Nurse in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
This includes a number of clinical roles; including phlebotomy, health checks and ASSISTING with Chronic Disease Management/LTC/ Minor surgery/Contraception clinics
- Blood Pressures Monitoring
- Assisting with Infection Control
- New Patient Health Checks
- Assisting in minor surgery
- Urinalysis
- Wound Management
- Assisting with stock checks/rotation and ordering
- Assisting with Vaccinations as directed
- ECG's
- Sutures & Clip removal
- Knowledge of assisting GP with minor surgery and other LTC clinics
Person Specification
Qualifications
Essential
GCSE Grade A-C in Maths & English or skills level 2 Maths & English or equivalent
The Care Ceritifcate
Desirable
- Level 2 Certificate in Work Preparation for Health and Social Care or
- Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or
- Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care
Experience
Essential
At least some experience as a Health Care Assistant
Desirable
General Practice experience
Experience of working in teams under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
