Health and Safety Officer
We have an exciting new opportunity at PCE for a Health and Safety Officer to join our team. This role will be a site-based role operating from numerous sites, therefore the willingness to travel and workaway is a requirement of this role.
At PCE, health & safety is treated with paramount importance. The Health & Safety Officer will play a key role in driving safe working practices by helping set and maintain high standards of H&S, through monitoring, auditing, training and modifying H&S practices and implementing and improving safe systems of work.

Location
This is a site-based role, therefore travel and working away will be key.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Responsible for the inspection and auditing of equipment
- Promote a high-level safety performance
- Auditing Construction Sites (primary function of role)
- Support the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of QHSE Standards and the relevance to their role within the business.
- Monthly KPI monitoring and auditing
- Managing day to day H&S on site
- Conduct site inductions
- Reviewing and modifying Safe Systems of Work
- Auditing sites daily closing out any issues and communicating improvements and preventative measures
- Administration - uploading of paperwork/completing audit and creating league table
- Educate best practice / lessons learnt
- Responsible for closing out actions
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Recognised H&S experience in construction
- NEBOSH
- IOSH (high level)
- TWS / TWC
- Construction H&S quality
- NVQ diploma level 5 - occupational H&S
- SMSTS
- Experience in lifting equipment
- First Aid
- Experience working within or interest in working within ISO 9001 / ISO 140001
- Ability to feedback constructive information
- Able to mediate risk v's practicality (explain the legal side but in a PCE way)
- Ownership
- Accountability
Essentials:
- Driving Licence
- CSCS card (Managers)
- IT literate
- Good communication skills
