St Andrews Links is recruiting for a qualified and competent Health and Safety Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The newly established role of the Health and Safety Manager will play a vital role in protecting employees in the workplace by ensuring that organisations meet current safety standards.
The role of the Health and Safety Manager will be to proactively develop and promote health and safety systems, programmes and initiatives across the Trust that collectively enhance employee and public safety.
We are looking for a Health and Safety Manager, to join an excellent team to proactively develop and promote health and safety systems, programmes and initiatives across the Trust that collectively enhance employee and public safety The individual will be responsible for;
- Ensure the health and safety governance arrangements are in place for the Trust and are monitored, reported and audited.
- Review current health and safety management systems, policies and processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Day-to-day line management of a Health and Safety Administrator
- Liaise with managers and stakeholders to develop the Health and Safety Improvement Plan through the provision of professional safety advice that is compliant with Health and Safety legislation, best practices and Fire and Rescue Service Delivery requirements.
- Through the development of a Health and Safety system monitor and report on compliance.
- Provide up-to-date safety advice that is consistent with legislation and reflects the needs of staff and the public.
- Establish the Health and Safety forum, Support delivery of strategic objectives, identify areas of concern through trend analysis, making recommendations, and observations with the project lead to ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
- Planning and delivery of safety audits, inspections, health & safety event investigations within the Trust, reporting on outcomes and making recommendations on addressing identified areas of concern.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders such as the Health and Safety Executive as directed.
- Act as an ambassador for the function and represent the Trust positively both internally and externally.
