Health and Safety Lead – Bupa Health Clinics
Locations: Salford Quays M50 3SP, Staines TW18 3DZ, Kirkstall Forge Leeds LS5 3BF
Permanent, full-time position: 37.5hours
Salary range: £40,000 – £45,000
Hybrid and flexible working available

This position is integral to the safety management of Bupa Health Clinics and compliance with policies and legal requirements. You will be key point of contact all Health and Safety activity within Bupa Health Clinics Business.

Role overview

In this role, you will provide a key point of contact all Health and Safety activity within Bupa UK Business Line and be required to work as part of the UK Health and Safety team and reporting through to the Director of Health and Safety. You will also help implement, monitor and maintain an effective safety management system to deliver business unit ambitions and performance for employee health and safety. You will collect, analyse and report incident / accident data to the on a quarterly basis and also develop and coordinate the business line level H&S action plan and Corporate H&S Strategy.

This is a role that covers a big multi-site portfolio, so will involve a lot of traveling to sites; you do get a role specific car as part of the benefits package.

What you’ll do:

  • You will ensure that risk assessments are completed for sites, significant risk activities, and DSE workstations for Bupa UK employees.
  • You will complete or coordinate accident / incident investigations as required
  • Organise with Learning and Development for the H&S induction of employees, including specific training for first aid and risk assessment as required.
  • You’ll also liaise with the H&S team over activity, initiatives and campaigns to promote the health, safety and wellbeing of all employees

What you’ll bring:

  • Membership of a professional safety body such as IOSH, IIRSM, CIEH, BSC.
  • Medium to large multisite management
  • Relevant experience of working in a general dental practice, hospital or community service dealing with risks such as sharps, slips and trips and challenging behaviours.
  • Good written and communication skills, sound judgement regarding risk control measures with the ability to take decisions, influence and negotiate at all levels
  • Be current with knowledge if health and safety legislation and guidance and maintain this.
