Main ResponsibilitiesYou will be responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.
You will:
- Participate in HazOp/HazId activity as their competence permits or to gain new experience and skills
- Assist specialist technical safety team members in their duties. This activity relates to occupational hygiene work related to COSHH, Exposure Monitoring, Ergonomics, Noise and Vibration.
- Lead or participate as a team member HSE related projects

The Ideal Candidate
Essentially you will have:
- Previous experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
- A level 3 qualification in Health and Safety such as the NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Demonstrable awareness of UK and EU Law, HSE Guidance documents and British Standards as they relate to the role.
- Demonstrable awareness of the nature and purpose of ISO 45001:2018
- Good interpersonal and team skills to ensure being able interact and communicate at all levels.
- Excellent negotiation skills to the extent of being able to deal effectively with Department level managers; employees; customers; suppliers and the enforcing authorities. The role requires the post holder to have the confidence to make and justify decisions.
- Good computer literacy to enable the use of standard office package software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
