About the role:
· To advise and assist the organisation in identifying and controlling its critical risks and developing a safety culture of collaboration, trust, and empowerment. Working with all departments to continually improve processes and safety performance by implementing pragmatic risk reduction.
· Ensure that current legislation and compliance obligations are simplified and communicated in a way that they can be understood by all. This will include working with area leadership to deliver suitable and sufficient risk management.
· Co-ordinate the response to any safety incidents including injuries, near misses and dangerous incidents so as to identify root causes and lessons to be learned, establish containment and preventative action and to monitor and identify trends. Ensure actions are managed to completion.
· Assist in the development, arrangement & delivery of safety training using both internal and external resources and work with HR to maintain adequate records of such.
· Liaise with Occupational Health provider and ensure all Occupational Hygiene programmes are implemented and maintained.
· Manage the businesses health and safety monitoring processes including conditional inspections. Conduct audits against company procedures and ISO 45001.
· Administer the H&S Management System and associated records in INTELEX.
· Develop and maintain a range of health and safety communication and promotional materials.
· Deputise for the Health & Safety Manager as required.

About you:
Experience: A minimum of three years’ experience working in a safety related function within a manufacturing environment or similar environment.
Skills: Growth mindset, ability to inspire and a passion for working with others to achieve shared goals, tenacity to push tasks to completion, Ability to influence at all levels. Good organisational skills, Confidence to deliver training and presentations. Proactive approach and understanding of effective change management. To be able to connect with and collaborate with employees at all levels.
Knowledge: NVQ level 6 / NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent degree level H&S qualification (desirable). Member of professional body IOSH or equivalent. A good working knowledge of the relevant UK H&S legislation specifically for manufacturing operations. E.g., PUWER, COSHH, WAHR, CDM, SIOPE knowledge
