Sitting within Library and Student Support, the directorate of Student Support and Wellbeing comprises a number of specialist teams which include the Student Helpdesk, Disability and Dyslexia Support, Counselling and Mental Health as well as services providing financial, visa and academic progression advice.
Working closely with other services, academic faculties and students, they play a vital role in ensuring that all students have access to a range of types of support appropriate to their needs and that these services are visible, seamless, effective and tailored to the needs of our student community.
We are looking for a dynamic leader to head up this service, manage a team of about 60 core staff and work with managers to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach, which is grounded in best professional practice, closely allied to the needs of academic faculties, but always striving to be innovative and exceed student expectations.
You will have experience of managing at least some of the services covered by this post, be familiar with the key professional issues and best practice in the sector and will also have the drive and enthusiasm to address major challenges and sustain a strong team culture that engages and motivates staff.
