Our established small animal practice has a fantastic opportunity for a forward thinking and ambitious Full Time HEAD RVN to join our team based in Airdrie. You will be committed to performing high standards of nursing care, oversee our RVN’s and be a fun and friendly addition to our excellent team. Our focus is on looking after you so you can concentrate on doing what you do best, looking after clients and their pets!
About Us:
Our practice has flourished since opening in 2012, making us the go to practice in the local area, with a large and loyal client base. We have been RCVS PSS accredited at General Practice level since opening and do all the things you would expect a busy small animal practice to do. Our welcoming, enthusiastic, forward-thinking team of 2 vets, 4 RVN’s, 5 client care advisors and practice manager all contribute to clinical protocols and practice procedures during monthly clinical and practice meetings. Our Location:
Airdrie is a small suburban town, located in the central belt of Scotland with excellent transport links to both Edinburgh and Glasgow. In addition, the beautiful southern Highlands are just a short drive north of the town providing endless opportunities to engage in cultural, historic and outdoor pursuits.
Job role:
Responsible for overseeing the nurse team, organizing staff rotas, holidays, diary management, nurse appraisals. Chairing clinical meetings, assisting in daily running of the practice, general admin duties including dealing with clinical complaints, controlled drugs book, Radiation Protection Supervisor, social media posts etc. In addition to general nursing duties of theatre/anaesthesia, consultations, general patient care, laboratory work, radiography, tidying/cleaning, helping with reception occasionally.
Facilities:
Purpose built practice, up to date equipment. We have in-house Biochemistry, Electrolyte and Haematology, Digital X-ray, Multi-parameter Anaesthetic Monitoring including bp, Fluid Pump, Ultrasound, Dental Machine, Rabbit dental equipment, individual kennels, cat ward and isolation units.

- Flexible hours - average 35-39 hours per week to include 1 in 4 Saturdays (9am-12pm) (can consist of longer or shorter shifts with late start or early finish)
- Fixed admin time in the diary with clinical work – theatre and consults scheduled in a fixed rota.
