Job description
A Head of Transactional Finance is required to work for a multinational retail brand that has continued to see significant growth throughout 2022, with revenues up by over 25%. The role will be split between offices in the Midlands & London (2 days required in the office per week), and will report directly to the Head of Finance, leading a large transactional finance team.
This is a key role in the business where you will be operating as part of the senior management team, leading the accounts payable, finance systems, and reconciliations team. You will be instrumental in automating the accounts payable processes following on from a recent system implementation and supporting the team through the period of change.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Leadership and development of 3 direct reports including Accounts Payable Manager, Reconciliations Manager, and Finance Systems Manager with indirect reports of 15+
- Driving the automation of the transactional finance function through working with the Finance Systems Manager to improve existing systems and further implement new finance tools
- Supporting the team through any systems changes including training, developing, and driving robust financial processes for the team to adhere to
- Implementing a new set of KPI reports giving visibility to various metrics including invoice volumes and aging reports
- Management of business-as-usual work including approving payment runs, dealing with complex supplier queries, and being a key point of contact for the banks
- Continuously look at ways to drive process improvement within transactional finance and implement these processes efficiently through effective communication with senior leadership and your direct team
What they are looking for:
The successful candidate will have a background in managing transactional finance teams of 10+ as well as proven examples of where you have driven change and automated processes. You will have experience leading both accounts payable teams as well as teams managing bank reconciliations, you must also have exposure to working for a multi-site business. Experience working for a retailer or consumer business is preferred, as is experience working for an international business. The ability to communicate at all levels is essential, the role will have exposure to the senior leadership team as well as global stakeholders and will be very much be seen as a key position in the business.
