We are working with a unique and growing client that has ancient woodland, historic gardens with far-reaching views, a luxury hotel, spa and restaurants. Attracting visitors from all over the world, their vibrant and thriving garden attraction is animated throughout the seasons by special events, workshops and educational programmes. They offer fine quality food & drinks brand, running a large farm land that produces a vibrant abundance of homegrown produce in a traditional, clean and sustainable way. This includes both fresh vegetable and fruit harvest, 365 days a-year, milk and dairy production, sheep and beef pastures with our own butchery, artisan bakery, mature apple orchards and state-of-the-art cyder cellar.
What you'll be doing
Head of Supply & Procurement will strategically oversee supply of inventory, resources and services and lead procurement function.
Responsible to develop and oversee sourcing strategy and transactional pay-to-procure activities, with the primary focus on retail commerce proposition, the role holder will also provide centralised procurement support across all other operational functions of the company, including production & innovation, hospitality, food & beverage, visitor attraction, business support.
Head of Supply & Procurement will lead the team of buyers, procurement coordinators and administrators and will work in close coordination with Commercial and Data teams on demand & supply planning, and with Operations team on optimising the process of inventory management and schedule of deliveries across varied supply chains of the company.
Reporting into the Director of Commerce, the role holder will be required to build and manage close relationships with the Head of Logistics, Commercial Manager and heads of departments to streamline procurement processes and assure supply needs across the organisation.
What you'll need to apply
- Qualification in business administration, supply chain management, marketing, operations, project management
- 5+ years of proven track record experience in senior supply chain management or procurement management.
- Experience of successful leadership in running diverse teams with high degree of delegation and autonomy
- Excellent negotiating and contract management skills and high commercial acumen
- High numerical literacy, data-driven approach in decision-making via effective measurement and assessment of operational performance, focusing on cost efficiencies
- Proactive with great interpersonal skills and ability to communicate and coordinate with team members and stakeholders at all levels
Optional experience as a bonus factor:
- High preference for experience in retail supply and procurement of cold-chain / fresh food or other fast-perishable goods.
- Experience working in high-volume transactional B2C environments, either Ecommerce or/and bricks & mortar retai
