About Us:
Lead the development of innovative programmes across the borough
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we are committed to making sure we use our resources to provide quality services for the greatest impact for our residents. From housing to healthcare, our aim is to work collaboratively with residents and partners and adopt the most relevant and cutting-edge approaches to dealing with every person and every situation.
The Resources Directorate works hard to enable the smooth and effective running of all Council services. Incorporating finance, digital, organisational development, customer delivery and a range of other services, our services are key to ensuring we are the best Council we can possibly be, for the benefit of our residents.
The Role:
As the Head of Strategy & Operations, you’ll work directly with the Executive Director of Resources to ensure the directorate is continuously improving, enabling the Council to deliver highly competent services to residents with the utmost care. You’ll be responsible for several pan-directorate pieces of work that form the foundation of our ambition: leading the directorate’s business planning process; designing, implementing and overseeing the development of a comprehensive performance management framework; developing and delivering communication plans; driving our equity, diversity and inclusion agenda; and coordinating our financial planning processes to name just a few.
Collaboration is at the heart of this role. You’ll develop strong working partnerships with the Directors both within the department and across the organisation to ensure our collective strategic plans and policies lead to the success of the organisation as a whole. You’ll be a key point of contact for elected Members, particularly within the Leadership Team, and our Executive Management Team.
With one eye firmly on the running of the department, you’ll work to identify and collate intelligence that can influence how we operate in the future. The challenges will be significant, but the professional and personal rewards huge.
