HARBOUR OPERATIONS ASSISSTANT
Saundersfoot Harbour is seeking to employ a fulltime Harbour Operations Assistant to work with and oversee a team of operatives, reporting to the Harbour Manager. As the Harbour Operations Assistant you will act as the first point of contact for the Harbour Manager in a Team Leader capacity. On occasions it may be necessary for the Harbour Operations Assistant to deputise for the Harbour Manager, applicants must address the following points to demonstrate their experience, skill set and knowledge.
1. Previous appointments within a management role.
2. Proven track record and knowledge of health and safety risk management, including preparation of risk assessments, method statements, and implementation of control measures, Relevant Qualifications if applicable.
3. A full UK driving licence (this is an essential requirement as part of this role).
4. Good level of fitness and health as the post will require extensive manual work outside in all weathers.
5. Be approachable and professional when dealing with staff and public.
6. Managing staff including, preparation of staff rotas and work schedules whilst maximising efficiency.
7. Demonstrated experience of creating and working too procurement and staffing budgets.
8. Experience of operating and maintaining plant machinery and tractors.
9. Boat handling experience is desirable.
10. Excellent communication skills.
11. Experience of working within a customer/ public facing role.
12. A proven ability to adapt and problem solve whilst working as part of a team.
13. A demonstrated track record of creating detailed reports and other documents
using Microsoft office, including using email software.
14. Must have a willingness to work flexible shift patterns, in support of the operational needs of the Harbour.
15. A good level of personal presentation.
Salary approx. £25,000 all inclusive.
45 hours, summer (May – Oct)
37.5 hours, winter (Nov – April)
This role will involve working weekends and bank holidays.
