An influential and strategic Head of Service to work within Community Older People and Physical Disability in Adult Community Social Care at Lancashire County Council.

The world of Adult Social Care is an exciting service area to be a part of, with a variety of challenges and responsibilities. Our leadership team is evolving as we work towards delivering our strategic vision, we require an aspirational leader who can see the bigger picture to deliver that vision and our evolving transformation programmes. You will be strategically leading and guiding Adult Social Care teams which include occupational therapy and sensory impairment who are responsible for high quality assessments and case management services, inspiring greatness in all that you and the service do. Your passion and enthusiasm for quality practice and service delivery will allow Adult Social Care to flourish, promoting independence and supporting the growth of community based and preventative services.

What we are looking for…

Strategic Leadership – you will have a natural ability to motivate your teams, taking a strategic approach in developing our Adult Social Care vision – we want a highly skilled influencer who can encourage partners to move out of their comfort zone and effectively communicate what outcomes social care can deliver to key stakeholders – you must be a strong and engaging leader who can provide a strategic oversight for a range of social care teams and services both within localities and across Lancashire – this is a fantastic opportunity to take a step up in your career supporting growth and change in a time where we are finally able to develop and move forward post covid

Collaborative – you will be working collaboratively with internal and external partners including the NHS and District Councils, therefore we need you to be approachable and professional in all communications – we want you to be able to work towards a greater integration, developing the approach to multi-agency community hubs and integrated neighbourhood teams – you will be reviewing the resources and skills of adult social care to align with the NHS and other external partners, so maintaining positive working relationships is vital - we will need you to be a leader of major change programmes both internally and externally and have the ability to roll out a strength-based approach within health and social care

Service Excellence – we want you to take pride in your teams and the services we deliver, supporting growth and development to enable Adult Social Care to evolve – you will be working towards reducing the demand and reliance on commissioned care and support, alleviating the strain on specific resources – juggling priorities and responsibilities will need to be an effortless process for you, keeping your focus upon quality practice – we want you to develop a shared understanding of local needs and utilise the resources available to ensure we deliver upon our agreed outcomes.
