Who we are looking for

PwC requires an experienced, market focussed Head of Sales to partner with the business and Sales and Marketing, within the Midlands region.

The Head of Sales must be commercially astute with strong business and global acumen to understand the challenges and opportunities created by market dynamics. The Head of Sales must possess excellent influencing and powerful communication skills with the ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of the strategic business drivers for PwC.

Your responsibilities

  • Working with senior Midlands leadership and key stakeholders to drive and deliver the firm’s Go-To-Market strategy focused in specific key markets including Industrial Manufacturing, Consumer Markets and Financial Services.

  • Collaborating with wider Sales & Marketing leads to deploy regional sales & marketing resources to drive an integrated approach, aligned to the growth strategy and local market.

  • Reviewing and assessing business performance to inform go-to-market activities and identify where interventions are required.

  • Leading the local Sales team and working alongside the Head of Regions Marketing and local Marketing team to activate the vision of the Midlands leadership and the firm’s strategy.

  • Delivering technical excellence in all aspects of the sales lifecycle.

  • Focusing on the key relationships and networks in the geography to ensure that the firm is positioned with appropriate business bodies, the public and private sector and having direct client engagement.

You must be creative, innovative and be able to influence and directly communicate with a diverse audience, including senior leadership.

In this role, it is important to:

  • Work with local leadership to understand market opportunities, in line with business planning and growth strategy.

  • Consult around the most appropriate method for driving revenue and profitability, growing client relationships and improving market profile, and ensuring that quality and brand values are always upheld.

  • Have a particular focus on positioning the PwC brand and growing revenue opportunities for the region, particularly in consideration of regional relationships and networks.

  • Role model leadership skills, providing professional guidance to others to ensure an integrated approach to market and that all activity is aligned to the region’s strategy.

  • Collaborate with colleagues from other regions to leverage and execute the firm’s approach to market.

  • Work with wider colleagues and specialist Sales and Marketing teams, to develop and interpret market insights and the voice of the client to help shape the business strategy.

The role will report to the Regions Sales & Marketing Strategy Director.


Essential skills needed for the role:

  • Proven track record of account management, business development and sales success in a client facing capacity.

  • Experience of developing and implementing strategy, matched to commercial objectives.

  • Experience of engaging multiple senior level relationships.

  • Creative and innovative approach.

  • Excellent influencing and powerful communication skills, proven track record of taking teams with you.

  • Proactive leadership with a positive ‘can do’ approach. Someone that leads by example.

  • Excellent role model, coach and mentor to others.

  • The ability to support and nurture talent and supporting teammates.

  • A sound business understanding as well as being commercially and risk aware.

This role sits within the Sales capability, part of Sales and Marketing, and covers all aspects of professional services marketing, sales support and business development. We work together with the Clients and Markets Executive to build and sustain competitive advantage. We execute our go-to-market strategy using our expertise, talent and assets to drive commercial outcomes, for us and our clients. The Sales capability operates with a culture focused on client-centricity and our clients issues, ensuring we are operating with a commercial mindset and a consistent level of quality and excellence in all we do.
