Head of Real Estate Job Description


SPECIFIC Role Purpose

  • To manage the LSbp the property portfolio aligns with the Company’s growth plans and costs.
  • To recommend when and how the property portfolio may be more or less agile.
  • To provide direction and support to the Office Managers in managing general facilities for each office.
  • To manage MSA’s and supplier relationships in relation to property and co-ordinate with Internal Procurement and Office Managers to create a consistent expectation and accountability for all office related suppliers.
  • To continuously evolve the Property Playbook and lead the project teams in translating colleagues needs into real estate planning parameters – e.g. sharing ratios, space types and space allocation.
  • To report into the Chief Procurement Officer to allow them to produce Board reports and papers along with escalating any large scale decisions.
  • To ensure there is a lead on the Human aspects of a project: HR, user groups, agility needs.
  • To ensure that the digital elements of the workplace are fully considered with the IT function.
  • To oversee all operational aspects of the property portfolio, including hard and soft facilities management, maintenance and reconfiguration of space with the Office Managers.
  • To lead the project teams to execute an orderly migration of operations to any new premises.
  • Ensure all DoC governance is adhered to, including business case development and approval.
  • Be the point of contact for internal finance.

Key skills and experience

All of the below are required:

  • Ability to translate a business strategy and client operational model into real estate and portfolio strategy.
  • Property and Workplace related data collection and analysis – eg space, cost, lease dates, people, roles, agility needs.
  • Experience in translating user needs into real estate planning parameters – eg sharing ratios, space types, space allocation.
  • Workplace psychology capability would be useful.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong supplier management skills.
  • Experience in real estate transactions.
  • Able to work at pace and in complex global environments.

Person Specification

Professional/technical experience

  • Proven ability to work effectively across teams and communicate effectively with senior leaders.
  • Previous relevant experience within the corporate real estate industry
  • Examples of innovation and delivery of enhanced customer service and relationship management in a comparable organisation
  • Experience of operating and managing supply partners and innovative customer services in a pressurised environment
  • Risk management

Knowledge

  • Exceptional experience of Workplace service delivery in a global context
  • Strong understanding of value management
  • Strong awareness of commercial market
  • Good experience in and passionate about partnering with suppliers
