BBC Studios is the most awarded Production Company and the biggest independent producer in the UK. The Factual Entertainment and Events team produce a wide breadth of content including; Top Gear, Dragon’s Den, Amazing Hotels, Morning Live, The ONE Show and the prestigious Royal Ceremonial Event coverage and much more.
We are looking for a Head of Production with experience within the Factual Entertainment realm working across a diverse slate of productions from high volume, fast turnaround, to smaller one off series for our base in Glasgow.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for leading, developing and motivating production teams across a range of output for the genre. Working closely alongside the genre’s Creative Director they will play an integral role in helping shape and grow the Glasgow Factual Entertainment base and the production management leadership team.
We are looking for someone who is dynamic, ambitious, collaborative and inspiring. They will be an excellent communicator both internally and externally and will play a key role in forging strategic partnerships for the Scottish base. We are looking for an energetic leader who will be responsible for ensuring an inclusive, collaborative and supportive culture, whilst also being an exceptional role model for our teams.
As well as having a considerable knowledge of the local area and the wider industry, they’ll have excellent knowledge of key talent within the base, building strong relationships with existing talent and identifying emerging talent. They’ll demonstrate a real passion and enthusiasm for the role, knowing how to lead, but also having the ability to offer support when required.

Are you the right candidate?To be successful in this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following -
Do you have a proven track record of being in a HOP role, or in a senior PE role within Unscripted (and/or Fact Ent) who’s looking to take the next step?
Do you have considerable experience in leading and managing multi-platform productions from start to delivery, for multiple broadcasters.
Do you have exceptional communication skills, being able to build key relationships both internally and externally, as well as inspire and lead change.
Do you possess excellent business and finance skills with a proven ability to be ambitious in identifying new business opportunities and seeing the bigger picture.
Do you have strong, dynamic leadership skills in supporting growth, collaboration and innovation.
Can you demonstrate a real passion for creating and nurturing inclusive cultures across productions.
Do you have a wide knowledge of the industry and the Glasgow/Scotland base, with strong relationships with key talent in the base, as well as identifying new emerging talent.
